Senior Programs
Senior Meals
As the Chatham-Kent senior population grows, many elderly individuals find themselves struggling with limited mobility, reduced income, and social isolation, which often leads to difficulty in accessing proper nutrition. FreeHelpCK’s Senior Meals program aims to address these challenges by delivering balanced, home-cooked meals to over 250 seniors, every Monday and Thursday, as well as on holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve, who may not have the means to provide for themselves.
Adopt A Senior
Adopt a Senior in Chatham-Kent is a compassionate initiative dedicated to supporting the elderly in the community by ensuring they have access to nutritious meals. Every Monday and Thursday, the program provides free, wholesome meals to seniors who are unable to leave their homes or prepare their own meals. This service, including delivery right to their doorstep, operates throughout the year, ensuring that no senior is left behind, even on holidays.
The highlight of the year for Adopt a Senior is Christmas Eve, when the spirit of giving truly comes to life. On this special day, volunteers deliver a festive turkey dinner along with gifts to each senior who is spending the holiday alone. This thoughtful gesture not only brings nutritional sustenance but also a moment of joy and a sense of community to those who may otherwise feel isolated during the holiday season.
