Nothing embodies the spirit of giving around the holidays more than FreeHelpCK’s Adopt a Senior program. For the 7th consecutive year, our organization will focus on this upcoming holiday season by accompanying and delivering a festive holiday dinner and gifts to seniors who are alone on Christmas Eve. 

Please complete all the information in the following form to nominate a senior or apply for yourself for our 2025 Adopt a Senior program.

BEFORE COMPLETING THE FORM BELOW, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MEET THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THIS PROGRAM.

  • You are over the age of 65
  • You live alone and have no family
  • You have limited mobility and are unable to get out

Operation Backpack 2026 registration is not open at this time and is expected to open in August 2026. Please continue to check our website and follow our social media pages for updates, as the official registration date will be announced as soon as it becomes available.

In the heart of Chatham-Kent, FreeHelpCK’s Operation Backpack Program continues to be a source of hope and support for local students as they prepare for a new school year. Since the program began, we have proudly provided more than 8,000 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, helping ensure that children and youth have the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

More than just backpacks, this program is about removing barriers, easing the financial burden on families, and giving every student the confidence to walk into the classroom ready to learn. Each backpack is thoughtfully packed with age-appropriate school supplies and represents our community’s commitment to ensuring that no child starts the school year at a disadvantage. Our commitment runs deep, driven by the belief that education is a right, not a privilege. We are determined to see this number grow, reaching more students each year and continuing to make a significant impact on their lives.

The success of Operation Backpack is made possible by the generosity of our community. Through the support of our donors, volunteers, and partners, local students can begin the school year with the supplies, confidence, and encouragement they need to succeed.
