Harvest To Home

Formerly known as the Gleaning Project, Harvest to Home is a community initiative dedicated to recovering excess fresh produce from local farms after growers have completed their primary harvest needs.
FreeHelpCK is proud to continue and expand this important program, previously operated through Chatham-Kent Public Health, ensuring it continues serving communities across Chatham-Kent and surrounding areas.
Our Mission
The goal of Harvest to Home is simple. Reduce food waste. Support local agriculture. Help ensure fresh food reaches community members facing food insecurity. Together, we are transforming excess into impact, helping feed our communities with dignity, compassion, and hope.

How It Works
Working alongside local farmers, our volunteers enter fields to harvest quality produce that would otherwise go unused. The recovered food is then distributed to approved community partners who have completed registration to participate in the program.
Who Receives the Food?
Harvest to Home supports approved community partners, including:
- Food Banks
- Soup Kitchens
- Community Meal Programs
- Free Food Pantries
- Shelters
- Other organizations providing food support at no cost
Through Harvest to Home, FreeHelpCK can provide tax receipts to farmers for eligible produce donations made through the program.
